Ben Adams

Core Developer
Ben Adams is an Ethereum Core Developer at Nethermind and one of the top three contributors to the Nethermind codebase. A 10x Microsoft MVP, he brings over two decades of performance optimization experience from the .NET ecosystem to blockchain infrastructure. He's co-founder and CTO of Illyriad Games and previously served on the .NET Foundation Board and Technical Steering Group. In just over two years at Nethermind, Ben has become a driving force behind the client's industry-leading performance. He co-authored three Ethereum Improvement Proposals: EIP-7818 (blob base fee bounded by execution cost), EIP-7934 (RLP execution block size limit), and EIP-7939 (CLZ opcode for counting leading zeros). His work focuses on low-level optimizations that push Ethereum's scalability boundaries while maintaining security and decentralization. Before entering blockchain, Ben made significant contributions to ASP.NET Core performance, helping achieve dramatic improvements in throughput and memory efficiency. His unique combination of systems programming expertise and blockchain protocol development makes him a key voice in Ethereum's technical roadmap discussions.
